Melissa (Missy) Dalgarn spent 32 years in human resource leadership roles in the private sector, primarily in the consumer products industry. Employers included The Pillsbury Company, Kraft Foods, Bell and Howell and Daymon Worldwide, Inc. Missy served as a member of GTA's Civic Affairs Commission. She volunteered as Director of The Mop Shop. Other interests included figure skating, gardening, travel and volunteer activities. Missy had Bachelors degrees in psychology and communications from Lewis and Clark College and a Masters of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from Colorado State University. Missy...my sister, my twin and my best friend...passed away on July 12, 2019. She was so very proud of The Mop Shop and the many donors, clients, volunteers and friends who were and continue to be committed to its success. Her good work will continue. (Shown Right)
Melinda (Mindy) Dalgarn spent her professional career in higher education at both private (Vanderbilt, Mercer and Duke) and public (Purdue Calumet) universities. She earned her doctorate in education administration at Vanderbilt University and has published over 50 articles in areas of student life. Mindy volunteers at The Mop Shop, contributes articles to The Territory Times in Galena, IL and writes for Julien's Journal in Dubuque, IA. In her spare time, Mindy enjoys cooking, baking, reading, travel and volunteer activities. (Shown Left)

By My Sister’s Side Stories of Hope and Resilience is a compilation of stories written by thirteen individuals who have lost loved ones to cancer. It is a heartfelt and powerful read by individuals who share their stories of love, loss, hope and resilience. It was our collective wish that By My Sister’s Side will help in the process of healing as those who remain strive to create a new normal. Net proceeds from the book are being donated to The Mop Shop in memory of Missy.
